November

November 1-30: It’s NaNoWriMo time! NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month, and I’m a big fan. For those of you that have attended my speaking events, you know that I completed this annual challenge of writing 50,000 words in 30 days back in 2008—and the end result was my first published novel, Despite the Ghosts! I will be in the trenches with you again this year, participating in both the Citrus County, Florida group, as well as the Wellsville, New York group to sweat it out with my friends across the country. C’mon…you know you have a novel brewing in there! Go to www.nanowrimo.org and join the chaos…er, I mean fun!!

November 16: It’s the Great NaNoWriMo Write-In from 1-4pm at the Central Ridge Library in Beverly Hills, FL. Join me and other published authors as we help you gain momentum in your manuscript as you strive to complete the National Novel Writing Month challenge of 50,000 words in 30 days! There will be a limited number of my books available for purchase and signing at the event, so feel free to order your own copy of Despite the Ghosts now and bring it with you! :)

February

February 4: 2012 Festival of Books—“Books and Beyond” held from 10-4pm at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Inverness, FL. I am thrilled to be a presenter this year, and will be giving a seminar titled, “Crafting Your Query Letter: How to Avoid the Slush Pile.” There are other local authors presenting in this festival, sponsored by the GFWC Women’s Club of Inverness. I will also be signing books at the Festival. Last year, I sold out in two hours, so stop by early to get your signed copy!
